Homemade Therapy: Be Kind to Yourself

Homemade therapy is a series of what you can do at home to create wellness and wellbeing.

Affirmations in New Thought and New Age terminology refer primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that “a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything.”

So how do you affirm, or rather, how do you talk to yourself?  What are you continually thinking about? What is the language you continually use?

How we talk to ourselves has a direct affect on how we are with others and how we create our future. In fact, when we are tough on others, we are just as tough on ourselves.  We constantly beat ourselves up when we don’t have the answers.  If you do this, it’s no surprise you will be doing it to others.  Sometimes we might not even know that we are doing this because it has become a habit.

So how do we change this?  We have to become MINDFUL.  This means we should stop letting our mind control us and instead we should be controlling our mind.

The blog on MEDITATION…. will show you how and then you can start by deliberately focusing on what you would like to think. It will take practice.  Once you practice, it will become better and each moment can be blissful or not.  Your choice. Remember “You have to fake it to make it.”  You mind believes everything you tell it.  If you tell it “Life Sucks” your mind will believe that.  If you tell it “Life is Great”, your mind will believe that too. It only takes a refocus to an Attitude of Gratitude to change your focus.

Examples of Affirmations:

Attitude of Gratitude: “I am grateful for all that I am, for that I have, and for all that I experience.”

For You: “I love you…YOUR NAME.”

For Health: “I am Healthy and Happy and I am living an abundant life.”

For Success: “I am successful, abundant and prosperous.”

For Relationships: “I am in a loving and happy relationship with…..”

For Financial Abundance “I am financially abundant.”

You can have daily affirmations for how you would like your day to be like or you can affirmation for success, health, abundance.  Basically you can have an affirmation for anything. Affirmations are just affirm your beliefs.  Beliefs occur once you have a thought and keep thinking that thought.  So why not start having thoughts that can have a positive impact on your life. You don’t have to take my word for it, prove it to yourself. Do it and see how powerful you are.
