Road to Wellness…Healing our Planet

Before we can heal the planet, we need to heal ourselves. How, you may ask? It’s important to move forward when we go through trauma. It’s important to learn to love ourselves when we don’t know how. Have a look at Declutter the Soap Opera of your life to get your life on track.

Here are some people that have inspired me about helping the planet and I hope will inspire you.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle

Bobby Fisher, One Love One Tribe

As we become more aware of Plastic pollution, the manufacture of plastic, as well as its destruction by incineration, pollutes air, land and water and exposes workers to toxic chemicals, including carcinogens. Synthetic plastic does not biodegrade. It just sits and accumulates in landfills or pollutes the environment. Persistent pollutants in the marine environment attach to the surface of plastic debris, floating plastics in the oceans have been found to accumulate pollutants and transport them through ocean currents. Plastic debris is also polluting the human food chain.

I met Bobbie Fisher, who is making reversible active wear made From recycled water bottles. You can find out more about what he does at oneloveonetribe.com.

Lisa Tanti

Lisa is a teacher and creative designer at Art Nouveau Studio. Lisa is a wonderful lady whose background is in fashion. She makes soaps from natural products and bags, bolsters from unused fabrics from tailors.  She also does Art Therapy to help children sometimes using  recyclable materials .

Having pursued her education in Environmental Design and Fashion Design, Lisa decided to open an art studio in hope to create a public awareness on the importance of arts in creating a well-balanced character. It is through teaching art that she hopes to introduce its many aspects and how it can help shape a child or an individual to become more creative and well balanced in a fun loving atmosphere.

She says “art has always been my passion and to educate and give others a chance to look at art from a totally different point of view and perspective is an exciting journey in itself. I believe that art lies everywhere within us and surrounding us and it has all to do with everything we do in life, be it studies or work. Art itself is a combination of all subjects merged together and it gives me great pleasure to be able to share these thoughts to students and adults alike in hope to change their way of seeing things around them with a whole new aspect. Art also helps an individual to think out of the box and to perceive what the eye sometimes cannot see. Art is also an important aspect of our character and to be able to express in art is a therapeutic form of self expression that we can learn to self teach ourselves or even discipline our thoughts towards it. I believe that art can bring every individual’s emotions to greater heights and fine tuning themselves especially in teenagers; learning to understand one’s emotions from elementary years, self exploratory from young starting at age 2 and finally, self enjoyment and appreciation of things and the simple beauty we have around us in our older years. It teaches and disciplines children about concentration, planning and self control that will aid greatly in their future and towards acceptance in the society.”

Educate Ourselves

Simran Nanwani

Simran is a young women, at age 23, She is so inspiring about how she would like to educate the world on healthy eating habits. Simrin says “Over time I aspire to become a public figure in the field of nutrition by becoming a role model for people who struggle to have a healthy relationship with food. Believe in Yourself

Steve Viglione, I am foundation

I heard about Steve when listening to Hay House Radio.  He started this charity to gift books with wonderful affirmations to children.

The I am Foundation is a great charity that helps children all over the world called the I Am Foundation.  The I AM Foundation has impacted over 1.1 million lives in over 50 countries with our book gifting programs.  The charity gifts books with powerful affirmations.  The affirmations are wonderful.

The affirmations remind children that they are amazing and wonderful. You can found out more about what they do at iamfoundation.org.

I have raised money, bought the I Am Books and gifted them to the Boy Scout when my son attended Boy Scouts.  I have gifted these books to my children’s friends and children that attend my kids yoga classes.

I really do believe that all can be healed. We all can play our part.  We can start by recycling at home. Reduce plastic bags when we go grocery shopping or sell or give away items that we no longer need. Someone’s rubbish may be another’s treasure. So what can you do to help the environment?
