Acupuncture

As I am approaching my fifties, my body is changing. In this change, my back and my abdomen has felt very tight and heavy. I have been looking for ways to get my body back to wellness. I have been giving various therapies ago. Here’s my take on Acupuncture.

I had acupuncture many years ago for my back pain. With perseverance and many treatments my back became well and was back to normal.

How does acupuncture affect the body? Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Usually needles are inserted from 1/4 to 1 inch in depth. Depth of insertion will depend on nature of the condition being treated, the patients’ size, age, and constitution, and upon the acupuncturists‘ style or school.

Although I felt very relaxed after the treatments, this time the treatment did not work and I decided to stop acupuncture and give massage ago. Tune into the next blog to find out what happened.

Thank you for tuning in.  Don’t forget to post a comment if you enjoyed reading this and feel free to share this with one person who may benefit from it.
