Physiotherapy

As I have been in the UK for the last six months and some businesses have reopened I am still searching for a treatment to help with my back. In the past I have had various massages, they are relaxing but haven’t helped to alleviate the tightness I feel . In Malaysia I do have regular massages but I have been in the UK eagerly waiting to go back. So I decided to give Physio therapy a try. I booked an appointment with a physiotherapist. I tried Acupuncture and Chinese herbs before lockdown but this time they didn’t help. It was time to do something else.

Physiotherapy is treatment to restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function, and well-being. Physiotherapy helps through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness.

Physiotherapists usually recommend movement and exercise to help improve your mobility and function. This may include: exercises designed to improve movement and strength in a specific part of the body – these usually need to be repeated regularly for a set length of time. I had regular weekly appointments.

My treatment was a combination of massage and exercises in the gym and exercises to do at home. It comprised of a three month program. Last week I had my last appointment.

I do feel a little better so I will continue to do the exercises with yoga and low intensity and low impact workouts at home. I know there will be long-term benefit in doing this.

Thank you for tuning in.  Don’t forget to post a comment if you enjoyed reading this and feel free to share this with one person who may benefit from it.
