Have You Ever Felt Upside-Down?

Do you ever feel like your world had turned upside down and you don’t know how to cope? Life sometimes throws curve balls and you may feel confused, muddled, topsy-turvy even.

In any moment we can make decisions that can help us or hinder us. It’s those moments that our decisions can shape our lives.

Here are some coping strategies for you.

Things are not in My Control

Whenever you feel things are out of control, remember we don’t have control over anyone or anything except ourselves. That means, we have control over how we respond to any situation. So take a few deep breaths and come to the present moment before taking any action.

Remember to be Grateful

When we focus on the problem we forget to be grateful for the things we have. We forget that we are blessed in so many ways. The air that we breathe, the food on our plate, shoes on our feet, clothes on our back and so much to appreciate but we take things for granted. Our blessings are right in front of us and we can’t even appreciate them. When we are loving and appreciating what we have, it can shift our energy and our focus.

Get Some Support

Many of us are conditioned to soldier on grimly on our own, but there are many organisations and people who can help. The most important step is to acknowledge to yourself that you need help, and that you don’t need to go through anything alone.

Take Some Time Out

Take some time to take care of yourself. Go for a walk, take in fresh air and clear your head. Put some music on and dance for 5 minutes. Take a hot bath with your favorite essential oil. Eat some nutritious food – a piece of fruit or drink a veggie smoothie. Taking care of yourself is not selfish. If you take care of yourself, then you can take care of the problem.

Focus on the Solution

What you focus on is where your energy flows. When you continuously focus on the problem that is all you can see. The universe always conspires in your favour and if you focus on a solution, a solution becomes available.
